Persona

Lindy is NaturFlourish’s Human Resources Manager. Warm, practical and relationally intelligent, she understands that organisations do not change because leaders announce new intentions; they change when people are invited, included and given a genuine opportunity to participate. Lindy combines strong people skills with a disciplined appreciation of structure, process and stakeholder engagement.

Narrative Role

Lindy is the internal facilitator who helps NaturFlourish turn aspiration into shared practice. In Adapt, Survive and Flourish, she first appears as a key partner in Sam’s use of stakeholder analysis — his “sonic screwdriver” — to break down silos and create the Capability Promise. Her work helps business units listen to what others actually need from them, turning stakeholder engagement from a planning tool into a relationship-building practice.

In Lead, Transform and Navigate, Lindy becomes even more important. Working with Bruno, she helps socialise the initial Business Capability Model through walk-throughs across the business. When she suggests enlarging the BCM, laminating it and putting it on the boardroom wall, she helps transform the model from a technical artefact into a shared organisational object — something people can see, question, mark up and own.

Her role deepens after Mallory’s challenge. When the Capability Pledge and BCM are tested under pressure, Lindy does not defend them as finished products. She recognises that they reflect what the organisation could say at the time, not necessarily the full reality. This honesty becomes central to the next stage of learning.

Later, Lindy is instrumental in the Gemba sessions, helping move the conversation from the boardroom to the place where work actually happens. There, she helps connect the Capability Pledge, the BCM and operational reality, ensuring that shared purpose is tested against practice rather than left hanging on the wall.

Learning Journey

Lindy begins as a capable HR manager helping Sam involve people in the organisation’s renewal. Through the Capability Promise, she sees how stakeholder engagement can move people beyond blame and siloed thinking toward shared commitment. As the work continues, she learns that participation is not a one-off workshop but an ongoing practice of socialisation, testing and refinement.

In Lead, Transform and Navigate, Lindy’s journey matures. She helps Bruno bring the BCM into the organisation’s life, but Mallory’s review reveals the limits of polite validation. Lindy comes to understand that what people are willing to say in a room is not always what the system most needs to hear. Her later work in the Gemba sessions shows her growth from facilitator of agreement to facilitator of reality-based learning. She becomes one of the people who helps NaturFlourish learn not just to declare its intentions, but to test, protect and live them.
