Ethical AI Governance is the governance of AI use so that purpose, permitted use, data, accountability, human judgement, contestability, and downstream consequences remain visible and owned.
It recognises that AI can assist attention, analysis, modelling, and decision-making, but should not become an unaccountable authority or a convenient place to deposit responsibility.
Ethical AI Governance requires clarity about why AI is being used, what decisions it may influence, what data and assumptions shape its outputs, who may challenge those outputs, and who remains accountable for the consequences.
It also requires AI-supported decisions to be tested against operational reality. Human beings remain responsible for meaning, ethical judgement, validation, and action, even where AI has contributed significantly to the result.
