Governance is how an organisation keeps decisions and actions connected to purpose, ethics, evidence, authority and consequence. It clarifies who may decide, who must act, what risks and impacts must be considered, and who answers for what follows.
Good governance does not mean controlling every decision. It creates enough clarity, trust and oversight for people to exercise judgement close to the work, surface inconvenient truths and learn when existing arrangements no longer fit reality.
