📝 Enterprise Architecture The practice of building shared organisational understanding through models, language, and structured knowledge.
Enterprise Architecture (EA) helps organisations develop a common understanding of what they do, how they work, the information they depend on, and how different parts of the organisation relate to one another. At its best, EA is not a technology discipline but a knowledge discipline that supports communication, coordination, learning, and decision-making.
In Adapt, Survive and Flourish, Enterprise Architecture is presented as a foundation for shared knowledge. Tools such as Business Capability Models, Conceptual Data Models, and other visual representations make organisational knowledge visible, discussable, and actionable.
When socially internalised, these models become part of an organisation’s Knowledge Operating System. When ignored, they risk becoming organisational “eye candy” or shelfware.
