Consequence

Consequences are what decisions and actions produceโ€”intended or unintended, immediate or delayed. They may fall on people who neither made the decision nor had a voice in it.

Taking consequences seriously means looking beyond formal compliance or declared intent. It requires decision-makers to notice what actually happens, answer for the effects and change course when the evidence demands it.

Without consequences, there is no valuable feedback, and without feedback, learning cannot occur.
